Hi, I’m Tara! Welcome to Wholly Habitual!
If you’re anything like most people I know, you’re fed up with confusing and contradictory health advice. Sure, you’d like to feel good. Preferably yesterday. But how?
What is the ideal human diet? Is it carbs that are bad, or is it fat? What’s the quickest way to get in shape? Does it involve starving, or spending hours at the gym?
And let’s be real – is any of it actually within the grasp of average people, who juggle jobs, families, and plenty of other demands on their time?
The fact is, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to health. You are unique, with unique needs, preferences, and challenges. These questions of what to eat and how to move have become needlessly complicated, making good health seem mysterious, distant – even impossible.
But it’s not impossible. Improved health, happiness, and wholeness are within your grasp. You deserve to feel good. And perfection is not required.
Good health is not about following one specific diet, fitness regimen, or lifestyle. It’s about the routine choices we make and the small steps we take on a daily basis. It’s about consistency over time. In other words, it’s about our habits.
I want to help you get in the habit of good health!
First things first: I am not an “expert.”
In fact, I am entirely uncredentialed in every way. I am not a medical professional, a dietician, a trainer, or a coach. I lack the authority – and the desire – to prescribe or advise. I don’t know any magical green smoothie recipes. To be completely honest, I don’t even drink smoothies, green or otherwise.
I am just a “normal” person who used to struggle – a lot – with “normal” things, like fitness, nutrition, and mindset. While I was always interested in self-improvement, it seemed that I could never get lifestyle changes to stick. After a few days, or a week, or a month, I would slip back into my old routines. From staying up all hours of the night, to eating too much junk food, to lying around binge-watching Netflix, I was a creature of habit.
Despite this stagnation, a series of life events set me on an unwitting health journey. Today, everything is different. I went from unhealthy, chronically depressed, disorganized, and overweight to far fitter, happier, and healthier than at any prior point in my life.
And most importantly, I’ve made it stick.
I am still very much a creature of habit. I simply figured out how to make my habits work for me, rather than against me.
This is a subject that I am passionate about, because if I can do this, then absolutely anybody can!

Let’s do this – one mundane and magical step at a time.
